About

In short I’m Ash Young, a web developer and digital marketing expert from Sheffield, UK. During the day I run Evoluted, a successful web development and design agency. The little time I have left is used to update this blog so I can share the experiences gained from running a successful web development agency.

How did you get here?

During my teenage years I developed an interest in computers and the Internet, creating many websites which are sadly no longer with us. After leaving school I attended the University of Sheffield where I studied for a Masters in Software Engineering graduating in 2005.

During university I freelanced as a web developer in order to eat (and drink) gaining a number of clients. The most notable of these being Weebl’s Stuff which at its peak had over 1.5 million unique visitors a month.

After freelancing full time for a year I setup Evoluted in 2006 which initially only had one employee, myself! Since then Evoluted has grown to employ 7 full time staff and has worked on a number of high profile projects including websites to promote Family Guy & Eminem.

Personal Life

In my personal life (which I don’t write about here) I’m married to the lovely Caroline who I live with, along with Lily our cat. We live on the edge of Chesterfield where there seems to be an abundance of wildlife for Lily to catch. If you follow me on Twitter then you’ll know that I update about my cat far too much.
