Whenever we’re doing search engine optimisation work on client sites one of the biggest issues we face is duplicate content page. Many content management systems create several versions of a page with the same content, as there are many instances when this is required. The canonical tag can help stop this problem and ensure the search engines only see the primary copy of each page.

After a week of downtime I’ve got finally got the site back online on a different domain with a slightly different look. Sometime on Monday the previous site ashyoung.net was taken down by UK2 as the Wordpress install had been hacked. This is partially my fault as I should have updated Wordpress to the latest version.
